This day should seriously consider handing in a letter of resignation before I fire it.
I was sitting out at my desk last night doing a little reading and coding. I thought I felt something touch my foot, so I pulled my foot back a bit, propped it on my sub and continued messing around on the computer. I didn't really think anything about it.
About thirty minutes later, I got up to go use the bathroom and saw this chilling on the stairs:
Eek.
You can't quite tell how long he is in this picture. There's a bit more of the stair that is obstructed. He reached the rest of the length of the stair and then down to the floor with a little left over. He was on the second step.
I stood around a bit trying to figure out what to do. He eventually noticed me and opened his mouth at me before turning to hide under my desk.
He eventually coiled himself behind a picture frame leaning against the wall.
I went inside to use the bathroom and to find something to get him out of the house. By the time I got back out, he was gone. No clue if he's still out here or not.
* Note: This is the shortened version of the story. The real story included me yelling for Andi to come through the backdoor and look, and Andi trying to call someone to see if they'd come remove the damn thing, etc. I just don't feel like typing it all out :P
Initially I thought it was a copperhead, which would suck quite a bit. Upon further inspection, I think it may have been a rat snake. It had more of a diamond pattern and a smaller head. Either way, I didn't particularly get close enough to find out. He was very grumpy.
I apologize for the crappy photos. I only had my phone available to me and the lighting was kind of bad due to a burned out bulb or eighty.
